How to build separate embryonic tissues: A tale of love and hate

Scientific sessions, PRBB CRG Conferences

François Fagotto

Department of Biology, McGill University. Montreal, Canada

François Fagotto, from the Department of Biology at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, is interested in cell-cell signalling, cell adhesion and morphogenesis. In particular he is studying the molecular mechanism of transduction of a major signaling cascade, the Wnt-ß-catenin pathway. He also tries to understand the cellular basis of morphogenetic movements, in particular the mechanisms that control cell migration and cell mixing, by analyzing the role of cell-cell adhesion molecules and the cytoskeleton during gastrulation of the frog embryo. He has been invited by Cristina Pujades (UPF).
