Systems Biology Group, Department of Biosciences and Nutrition, Karolinska Institute. Stockholm, Sweden

Jussi Taipale, from the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden, aims to understand the molecular mechanisms that control gene regulation and growth control through the use of high-throughput biology. His lab has mapped the binding specificities of thousands of transcription factors, proposed a model for the inheritance of transcription states, demonstrated widespread co-operativity between transcription factors, performed genome-wide RNAi screens, and identified the genetic variant in the human population with the largest impact on human cancer predisposition. He has been invited by Ben Lehner (CRG).
