Juan Martin-Serrano

Department of Infectious Diseases, King's College London School of Medicine. London, UK

Juan Martin Serrano, from King's College London School of Medicine at Guy's, King's and St Thomas' Hospitals in London, UK, is interested in the intersection between retrovirology and cell biology. He focuses on the study of cellular proteins that are involved in retroviral assembly, in particular, in the last event in the release of infectious HIV-1 and other retroviruses from the infected cell, an event that involves the Endosomal Complex Required for Transport (ESCRT) machinery, which also facilitates several aspects of cell biology. He has been invited by Manuel Mendoza (CRG).
