Biochemical Networks Group, AMOLF Institute. Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Pieter Rein ten Wolde, from the AMOLF Institute in Amsterdam, Netherlands, aims to unravel the design principles of cellular information transmission. To this end, he combines concepts and ideas from information theory, non-equilibrium thermodynamics and statistical physics, and integrates analytical theory with computer simulations. His special interests are the optimal design of cellular signalling systems and circadian clocks. He has been invited by Jordi Garcia-Ojalvo (UPF).
