Roles of Notch and SOX2 in the production of sensory cells in the mammalian inner ear

Scientific sessions, PRBB CRG Conferences

Amy Kiernan

School of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Rochester, Rochester US

Kiernan, from the School of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Rochester in Rochester, USA, uses advanced mouse genetic approaches, including conditional gene targeting and inducible expression systems, to elucidate key molecular pathways involved in different aspects of sensory development. Kiernan is studying  the role of the Notch signaling pathway and the transcription factor SOX2 in the development of the eye and the inner ear. She has been invited by Fernando Giráldez (UPF).
