Systems Biology of Gene Regulatory Elements, Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine. Berlin-Buch, Germany
Nikolaus Rajewsky, from the Systems Biology of Gene Regulatory Elements group at the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine in Berlin-Buch, Germany, combines theoretical/computational and experimental methods to understand more about gene regulation in animals. His team employs techniques from molecular biology and biochemistry on different model organisms and drives the analysis with tools and concepts from bioinformatics, statistics, and physics. A major focus is on post-transcriptional gene regulation by small RNAs (for example microRNAs) and RNA binding proteins. He has been invited by Marc Friedlaender (CRG).
