Palmiero Monteleone, from the Dipartimento di Medicina e Chirurgia, Università degli Studi di Salerno in Fisciano, Italy, is interested in the study of the psychobiological aspects of mental illnesses and their psychopharmacological treatment. In these areas, specific attention is devoted to the study of peptides and hormones involved in the regulation of feeding behaviour and their possible involvement in the etiopathogenesis of eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. He is also studying the role of the gratification systems, the endogenous stress response systems and environmental factors in the modulation of feeding behaviours. He has been invited by Patricia Robledo (IMIM).
