G protein-coupled receptor kinase 2 (GRK2) at the crossroads of cell signaling pathways

Federico Mayor, from the Centro de Biología Molecular Severo Ochoa in Madrid, Spain, is trying to understand the complex network of functional interactions ("interactome") of G protein-coupled receptor kinases (GRKs), which represent an important point of convergence of different signalling routes. This is critical to understand why their expression and activity is altered in pathological conditions, and how alterations in GRK levels or functionality may participate in the triggering or development of several cardiovascular, neoplasic or inflammatory diseases. He has been invited by Francesc Posas (UPF).
