Joel Schwartz, from the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, US, has played a leading and crucial role in the discovery of the health effects of lead on neurodevelopment and the urban air pollution effects on respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, with special attention to the underlying mechanisms. He is also interested in methodological questions regarding the modelling of non-linear functions. Finally, he wants to understand the effects of antioxidants on respiratory health. He has been invited by Jordi Sunyer (CREAL).
