Aberrant cytosine-5 RNA methylation impairs stress pathways

Scientific sessions, PRBB CRG Conferences

Michaela Frye

Epithelial Stem Cell Homeostasis and Cancer, Cambridge Stem Cell Institute, Wellcome Trust-MRC, University of Cambridge. Cambridge, UK

Frye, from the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute, Wellcome Trust-MRC, in Cambridge, UK, is using a comprehensive approach combining system-wide approaches, mouse models and in vitro differentiation assays to study epithelial stem cell homeostasis and cancer and identify key factors regulating stem cell differentiation in adult tissues. In particular she wants to answer how post-transcriptional modification control stem cell fate in normal tissues and how aberrant cytosine-5 methylation pathways can cause human diseases. She has been invited by Kiana Toufighi (CRG).
