Post-transcriptional gene regulation in development and disease

Scientific sessions, PRBB CRG Conferences

Christopher Burge

Department of Biology, Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Cambridge, USA

Chris Burge, from the Department of Biology of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge (MA), US, is interested in the computational Biology of Gene Expression. He is studying mechanisms of posttranscriptional gene regulation using a combination of computational and experimental methods to understand the RNA splicing code. Amongst other things, he also studies the roles that microRNAs (miRNAs) play in gene regulation, with an emphasis on determining the rules for miRNA-directed targeting of mRNAs.

He has been invited by Joao Curado (CRG).
