AurélienRoux, from the Biochemistry Department, University of Geneva, and Swiss National Centre for Competence in Research Programme Chemical Biology in Geneva, Switzerland, is interested in membrane traffic mechanics. He aims to understand the mechanical and dynamic properties of lipids and proteins involved in membrane traffic and in particular how the special mechanical properties of membranes, a type of visco-elastic 2D fluids which can auto-seal if broken, produce efficient membrane deformation, lipid and protein sorting within traffic intermediates, and fission of separating membranes.

He has been invited by Félix Campelo (CRG).
