Jorge Busciglio from the Neurobiology and Behavior centre of the University of California in Irvine, USA, tries to understand the molecular bases of neuronal dysfunction and death in Down’s syndrome (DS) and Alzheimer’s disease (AD). His research focuses on three areas: Molecular mechanisms underlying DS pathology; cell and molecular pathways involved in amyloid ß (Aß) neurotoxicity; and the role of axonal transport deficits in AD.

He has been invited by Paco Muñoz (UPF).
