News from CEXS-UPF
The journal Science has included in its ScienceCareers section an article focusing on Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI), a concept that refers to the need for R&D to be more committed to the values, expectations and needs of society and for that, it works on different dimensions (anticipation, transparency, diversity, responsiveness) and from different fronts (Citizen participation, ethics, open access and gender equality, among others).
Among the projects highlighted by ScienceCareers are Higher Education Institutions & Responsible Research and Innovation (HEIRRI), led by the Studies Center on Science, Communication and Society at UPF (CCS- UPF). The aim of the European HEIRRI project is to promote the integration of RRI teaching in university education for future scientists, engineers and other professionals involved in R&D.
The HEIRRI project is funded by the Horizon 2020 program of the European Commission and has a budget of 1.5 million euros and 3 years of duration.
