Durant les últimes setmanes es van dur a terme el manteniment anual de l'estructura metàl·lica exterior darrere la façana de fusta de l'edifici. Es van utilitzar 160 litres d'imprimació epoxi de dos components i, posteriorment, es van aplicar 140 litres addicionals d'una pintura blanca especial. Un pintor extern oficial va dedicar 450 hores de treball a aquesta tasca.

La part visible de l'edifici amb la façana de fusta i vidre es troba suspesa sobre la planta baixa i dóna la sensació d’una estructura flotant. Només el 40% de l'estructura se sosté per nuclis tradicionals de formigó. La resta està sostinguda a partir de pius superiors al sostre mantenint l'estructura interna i externa en suspensió. Els voladissos exteriors blancs de l’edifici pengen de 69 tirants inclinats (cada 3,6 m) just darrere la façana. Estan fabricats en acer sòlid amb un límit elàstic de 460 N/mm2 i tenen un diàmetre de 56 mm des de la planta 1 a 3, 64 mm des de la planta 3 a 5 i 76 mm des de la planta 5 cap amunt.

 

Painting Works of the external suspension structure of the building

During the last weeks the yearly maintenance works of the external metal structure behind the wooden façade of the building took place. 160 litres of a two component epoxy undercoat were used and after drying, additional 140 litres of a special white paint were applied. An official external painter dedicated 450 working hours to this task.

The visible part of the building, with its façade of wood and glass, is suspended above the ground which gives the impression of a floating structure. Only 40% of the weight of the building is supported by traditional concrete cores. The rest is sustained from braces at the roof by holding the internal and external suspension structure. The white external cantilevers of the building are supported by being suspended from 69 inclined tie rods (every 3.6 m) just behind the façade. They are made of solid steel with an elastic limit of 460 N/mm2 and have a diameter 56 mm between the floors 1 to 3, 64 mm from the floors 3 to 5 and 76 mm from the fifth floor upwards.
