Scientific, technological and social developments are closely interrelated: these three disciplines are co-produced, and therefore decisions on one field affect the other two. This central idea in the field of study of Science, Technology and Society, of which Professor Roger Strand is an expert, has slowly penetrated into official European research policies under the name of "Research and Responsible Innovation", RRI.
On October 25 at 16.00 h Roger Strand, a professor at the University of Bergen, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and the European Center for Governance in Complexity, will give a talk entitled "Responsibility in research from the co-production perspective". In it, the expert on ethical and social aspects of emerging science and technology will explain the perspective of co-production and will show some examples of how RRI is being implemented within the life sciences and biotechnology.
