News from IMIM-Hospital del Mar
The research group on cardiovascular epidemiology and genetics of IMIM has conducted a study to analyze the existence of changes in the prognosis of myocardial infarction in the last 30 years. The results show a decrease in short-term mortality in both sexes, especially among women. This decline seems to be motivated by healthier lifestyles and advances in treatment. The article, which was published in the European Journal of Epidemiology, has shown that women no longer have an increased risk of short-term mortality with this disease.
