News from ISGlobal
The emergency situation caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus has shown that science is more than just an important tool for society; it is essential. Therefore, given the current political situation in Spain, four scientific, medical and university organisations have released a statement this week calling on government authorities to provide the resources required to carry out much-needed research.
The signatory associations are the Spanish Confederation of Scientific Societies (COSCE), the Federation of Spanish Scientific and Medical Associations (FACME), the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE) and the Alliance of Severo Ochoa Centres and María de Maeztu Units (SOMMa). As a member of SOMMa and an organisation dedicated to fighting for global health, the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) endorses the manifesto, which is reproduced here.
