Spanish researchers have been involved in the analysis of mental health surveys, conducted by the World Health Organization in 28 countries to determine the prevalence of mental disorders in the world and their impact.

The study published in Psychological Medicine estimates the degree to which a family member may feel embarrassed when a close family member suffers from an addiction to alcohol or drugs or mental health issues. Jordi Alonso, from the IMIM was the scientific coordinator of the project in Europe.
