IBE (CSIC-UPF): Looking for genetic footprints of Indian demographic history

News from IBE (CSIC-UPF)

This is the first study reporting next-generation sequencing data in Indian populations. Researchers from IBE explored the genetic consequences of the particular Indian demographic history with founder effects, interpopulation segregation, a unique complex social structure with a caste system and elevated frequency of consanguineous marriages.

This study has been led by IBE researchers from J. Bertranpetit's Lab.
