Manolis Kogevinas, CREAL codirector, has been elected as the new president of the International Society for Environmental Epidemiology (ISEE). This is an important recognition to Kogevinas career.
Dr. Manolis Kogevinas, graduated at the Medical School of Athens, Greece, and did his PhD in Epidemiology at the University of London (1989). He worked at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC/WHO), Lyon, from 1989-1994. Since then he is at the Municipal Institute Hospital de Mar for Medical Research (IMIM) Barcelona and is co-Director of the Centre for Research in Environmental Epidemiology (CREAL). He is currently also director of European Educational Programme in Epidemiology (EEPE), Florence. He served in several WHO and other expert committees evaluating the toxicity of chemicals such as dioxins and drinking water contaminants. He has published more than 250 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals.
