Jonathan Clarke, from King´s College in London, UK, is trying to understand brain development by studying zebrafish embryos and using confocal microscopy to analyse cellular and subcellular details of the events that help construct a brain. In particular he focuses on the mechanisms necessary to build and shape the brain and spinal cord, the mechanisms regulating neural progenitor cell divisions to balance brain growth and neural differentiation and the organization of neural circuits in the developing central nervous System.

He has been invited by Cristina Pujades (UPF).
