Cassian Sitaru, from the Universitätsklinikum Freiburg, in Germany, , will give a talk entitled “Epidermolysis bullosa acquisita: emerging prototypical organ-specific autoimmune disease”, on Monday June 30 at 12am at the lecture room 300.08/350.08 of the PRBB (C/ Dr. Aiguader, 88). He was invited by Josep E Herrero, from the IMIM.
Sitaru is interested in the mechanisms governing the coupling of autoantibody specificity to effector cell response, with special emphasis on autoantibodies against structural skin proteins, such as type VII and type XVII collagen, in autoimmune blistering diseases. For this, he is establishing in vitro and in vivo models.
