I els guanyadors són... els “Icecreams”! Potser l’equip que reunia a gent de més centres diferents, aquest grup de biòlegs computacionals van guanyar el campionat de vòlei platja del PRBB d’enguany, deixant els “Rabenessen de Caramel” com a semifinalistes per segon any consecutiu.

Després de la celebració dels guanyadors amb un bany al mar just després del partit, la festa va començar. Tots els equips van rebre una pilota de vòlei personalitzada, i cada participant del campionat va rebre una bossa de platja i un disc volador per gaudir la resta de l‘estiu.

La festa va ser també l’ocasió per presentar la jornada de portes obertes del PRBB, que tindran lloc el 4 d’octubre i en les que el parc s’obrirà al públic general (recordeu d’enviar un email a amartin@imim.es si voleu fer de voluntaris!).

I un cop els seus estómacs van estar plens de menjar i beguda, l’audiència va participar d’un fantàstic espectacle de trapezi, amb la Lola Galeote, de la UPF, de protagonista. La música i el ball van seguir aquest bonic i impressionant entreteniment fins a mitjanit. Un gran final per a un gran campionat!

Final party of the PRBB Beach Volley Championship

And the winner is... “Icecreams”! Perhaps the team that mixed people from more different centres, this group of computational biologists from the GRIB (IMIM-UPF) and the CRG won the ‘cracks’ final of the 2008 PRBB Beach Volley Championship, leaving “Rabenessen de Caramel” as the semi-finalists for the second year on a row.

Following the winners’ celebration of their victory by jumping into the sea straight after their game, the party started. All teams received a personalised volley ball and each participant in the championship received a beach bag and a Frisbee to enjoy the rest of the summer.

The party was also the venue for the announcement of the PRBB Open Day, a day in which the park will be open to the public and which will take place on October 4th (remember to send an email to amartin@imim.es if you want to volunteer!).

And once their stomachs were full with food and drinks, the audience enjoyed a fantastic trapeze show starring Lola Galeote, from the UPF. Music and dancing followed this beautiful and impressive entertainment until midnight. A great end for a great championship!
