To raise awareness among life scientists of the commercial potential of their research, to stimulate technology transfer from academy to industry and to encourage bio-entrepreneurship in the academic community, are the goals of a patent course at the park on October 13-17. All PRBB residents are welcome to join this free course that is organized by the European Commission and the Management Center Innsbruck in eight different countries throughout Europe. The Barcelona course is promoted by Biocat, the bioregion of Catalonia and PRBB.
From four international top experts you will learn the basics of patent law, how you can use patent databases as an information source in your daily scientific work, and finally to evaluate inventions and how to get money out of them. Interested people will need to register for the free course that is given fully in English at the
IPRAM website (link). It is also possible to enroll for selected course modules instead of the complete lecture week.
