Hyung Don Ryoo, from the Department of Cell Biology at the New York University School of Medicine, will give a talk entitled “Unfolding pathways of stress response and apoptosis in Drosophila” on Friday February 12 at 12:00 at the lecture room 473.10 of the PRBB (C/ Dr. Aiguader, 88). He was invited by Hernan Lopez-Schier (CRG).
Don Ryoo is interested in understanding the basic mechanisms of apoptosis during animal development and in disease using Drosophila as a model system. His first area of interest is to understand the mechanism of caspase regulation and the coordination between apoptosis and cell proliferation. The second research program is aimed at understanding how endoplasmic stress (ER-stress) activates apoptosis.
