Aquest matí ha tingut lloc la visita oficial al PRBB de president de la República Portuguesa, Anibal Cavaco Silva. Des de primera hora del matí hi ha hagut dins i fora de l’edifici un gran desplegament dels dispositius de seguretat que acompanyen habitualment aquests actes. Cavaco Silva ha arribat acompanyat per una comitiva de 25 autoritats portugueses i catalanes, entre les quals hi havia el president de la Generalitat de Catalunya, José Montilla i l’ambaixador de Portugal a Espanya, Alvaro de Mendouza.

A la Plaça Darwin els hi ha donat la benvinguda el director general del PRBB, Jordi Camí i la consellera de Salut, Marina Geli entre d'altres autoritats. La visita, tot i el caire oficial, ha estat molt distesa i cordial. El president de Portugal ha saludat als residents portuguesos del PRBB que l’esperaven a la terrassa de l’Auditori i Cavaco Silva ha parlat amb ells i s’ha interessat personalment per la seva feina al PRBB. Després d’una breu presentació del PRBB a càrrec de Jordi Camí, la comitiva ha visitat el laboratori d’Assaigs Clínics de l’IMIM i el laboratori de Genòmica de la UPF.


Visit of the President of Portugal

This morning the official visit of Portuguese President Anibal Cavaco Silva took place. From early in the morning until the end of the visit there has been large movement of people in the building because of a large deployment of security devices that usually accompany such acts. Cavaco Silva has arrived accompanied by a delegation of 25 Portuguese and Catalan officials, amongst were the President of the Generalitat de Catalunya, José Montilla and the ambassador of Portugal in Spain, Alvaro de Mendouza.

At the Plaza Darwin, Jordi Camí and the Minister of Health, Marina Geli, among other officials have welcomed the President. The visit, the conversations and the atmosphere has been very relaxed and friendly. The Portuguese President greeted the Portuguese residents of PRBB awaiting him on the terrace of the auditorium and Cavaco Silva has spoken with them and showed a personal interest in their work at PRBB. After a brief presentation of the park by Jordi Camí, the delegation has visited the clinical trials unit of IMIM and the genomics Laboratory of the UPF.
