News from CMRB
This next March 17th will become an opportunity to learn, discover and discuss stem cell research for the nearly 30,000 European high school students who will participate in Unistem Day. At the Center of Regenerative Medicine in Barcelona (CMR[B]), one of the 11 participating Spanish institutions, IES Pompeu Fabra students will be able to enjoy the activities that the researchers of the Cell Lines Bank have specifically prepared for the day.
This annual event - now in its ninth year - aims to stimulate the interest of young people through conferences, debates, films and recreational events in the context of stem cell research. The event is simultaneously held among several universities in Europe, including the countries of Spain, Italy, United Kingdom and Sweden.
Unistem day will begin at 9:00 a.m. in all participating centers simultaneously. At the CMR[B], IES Pompeu Fabra students will enjoy the conference "Pluripotent stem cells: what they are and what we can do with them", by Dr. Begoña Aran, and the game "Rebuilding the heart with stem cells" . Students will also be able to discover research taking into account not only scientific content and methods, but also the fact that research is fun and encourages personal and social relationships. Social forums such as Facebook will also be active both nationally and internationally.
