| Contents: | This workshop will present the life cycle of a biotech company and the financial requirements of each phase. Key financial resources are grants, family, friends, business angels, loans, debt, venture capital and finally also the stock market (IPO). The relationships with venture capital and business angels will be explained (presentation, evaluation, valuation, due diligence) and the following questions will be answered: What benefits are the investors expecting? How do they evaluate the projects? How long does the collaboration take? |
Julia Winter is Director of the Biofocus fund and consultant in biotech financing, representing a major European venture capital firm in Spain. Previously VC with InterWest Partners in California and Dir. BusDev., ALZA Corporation. Reimund Fickert is Project Director at the PRBB and professor in Business Aspects of Science on the Masters of Leadership and Management of Science at IDEC-UPF.
